Sadhana is a Sanskrit word which represents consistent efforts to accomplish a certain goal in life. But in spiritual life the word ‘Sadhana’ refers to rigorously applying proven methods towards one’s self transformation and spiritual illumination. We have been born with two different consciousnesses. One is outer consciousness and the other one is inner consciousness. The outer consciousness is material, which develops automatically as we grow young seeing other people living around us. This is more a selfish face of consciousness driven by the selfish requirements of both physical body and mind. Every living being is driven by this form of consciousness where we share our common self interests and mutually benefited with its material rewards. On the other side our inner consciousness, which is at the peak when we are born rapidly starts diluting in the influence of our outer consciousness with our physical growth and successive material development. We do not get any external world motivation or support to sustain and develop our inner consciousness. The reason is, it does not serve the common self interests of two or more persons and the benefits cannot be shared materially. The decision to follow the path of inner consciousness is purely one’s very personal without any external influence or interest. Nothing or nobody should be blamed or expected for anything in this path. The patience and persistence of an aspirant is tested very hard on this path. No self complains or complains for others are being admitted here because it is our self chosen path. The inner consciousness is our inherent energy, which is all pure and free to all intent. Substantially the kundalini shakti is the true form of this inner consciousness. By following the path of sadhana the aspirant gets control and balance over his both these consciousnesses. As mentioned before this inner consciousness (kundalini shakti) is latent in every human being. But the level of energy rise is different for different people. Kriya Yoga empowers this inherent inner consciousness to its full potential and place. Through “Sadhana” we can overcome the obstructions coming in our way of self transformation and self realization. Also following the sadhanas we can restrain our outer consciousness (our temptations and vices) to progress smoothly on the path of kriya yoga.
Some of the purely spiritual sadhanas have been mentioned below for the aspirants who genuinely wish to undertake and follow the path of kriya yoga in their life.
Guru Sadhana
The energy which intents us towards illumination and self transformation is the Guru. The Guru is the propeller of our inner consciousness and piercer of our outer consciousness. The Guru is not merely a body rather He is a union of abundant dynamic powers of the nature. The letter ‘Gu’ eliminates all the disorders of the disciple and the letter ‘Ru’ delivers the powers and accomplishments together with the state of true liberation. No sadhaka (aspirant) or disciple can progress smoothly on the spiritual path without support and guidance of a spiritual Guru. The disciple receives the unique and divine experiences within the Guru’s company and Guru’s grace. Every sadhaka must undertake the ‘Guru Sadhana’ at the beginning of his spiritual journey.
Satisfying the Guru with this sadhana means pleasing and obtaining the abundant powers from the nature. When the Guru is satisfied any obstruction coming on the path of your sadhana is definitely solved by the nature itself giving you the answer in signals. Anywhere, anytime, in any state and any circumstances the inherent Guru’s grace within the nature creates a conformable atmosphere to support the sadhaka.
Gayatri Sadhana

Purely spiritual and combined with divine powers Gayatri Sadhana is for emancipation. It is mandatory to follow Gayatri sadhana for the Sadhaka having the perception of progressing towards self enlightenment. The path of enlightenment is rigorous. At every step of it our actions and our attachments mislead us to take us away from God inclination. We have been tempted towards material comforts and gets distant from God awareness. To avoid dejection and deviation on your spiritual path Gayatri sadhana works as a potent barrier not to merge again with mundane matters. Gayatri sadhana inspires our intellect towards pure knowledge, which is productive, radiant, Omni-present and Omni-potent.
Maha-Mritunjaya Sadhana

The literal meaning of Maha-Mritunjaya is victory over death or immortality. In nature both beginning and end is here, the one who is born is certainly going to die. And that is why this earth is called “Mrityuloka”. Therefore on this earth the word immortality refers to ‘Libration’. When the self is diluted within the Supreme nothing like demise exists. All the things, which drive us towards this mortal world, can be conquered with this sadhana. In spirituality it is a great importance of Maha-Mritujaya sadhana. It is a divine form of Lord Shiva who is believed to be a God of destruction. Victory over the senses and destruction of all the defects is the divine fruit of accomplishing this sadhana, which make us, lead a life
of true yogi. This sadhana delivers perfection in all four fields (dharma, artha, kaam, moksha) of life.
Sri Hari Vishnu Sadhana

Lord Vishnu has been recognised as Jagat Guru (Guru of All beings) having perfection in sixteen arts of life. Like any other spiritual Guru, Lord Vishnu is also a destroyer of His own created ‘Maya’ (illusion). The sahdaka performing this sadhana overcomes all the worldly attachments on macro level and lives free (librated) in this world. Once being librated from the world the sadhaka progresses rapidly on the path of kriya yoga and kundalini awakening.

Deity Maha Saraswati is perceived as Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. She is the power to dissolve the ignorance and illuminate the radiance of true knowledge. Every one of us has been given the same life, all the knowledge is within us in a form of sapient energy waiting to be ignited. In our whole life only a very little proportion of this massive energy is being awakened and used. And that little awakened proportion we use to accomplish some individual material achievements and become a writer, poet, musician or a scientist etc. But the inner knowledge has no boundaries to limit us within a particular field. Deity Swaraswti is the bestower of this inner knowledge, which is beyond every limitation. Saras-
-wati sadhana stimulates our root of wisdom to take the right decision in life. Through this sadhana we recognise the practical truth of life. Godess Swarasati awakes the imperishable powers, which makes us feel our true self. The knowledge received by this sadhana is not been defined in any scripture or book. The one and only source to attain this wisdom and true knowledge is Swaraswati sadhana. The energy inherent in different chakras of the kundalini can be realized through Swaraswati sadhana.
Baglamukhi Sadhana

Baglamukhi is a siddhavidya (dynamic wisdom). She has given place among ten supreme wisdom Godesses (Dus Mahavidya). Actually the Dus Mahavidya Godesses are believed to be the preceding deities of the kundalini shakti. Baglamukhi is precisely said to be an enemy destroyer deity. In a process of internal purification of the kundalini path deity Baglamukhi is the destroyer of ill senses, thoughts and speech. She is moderator to invoke purified thoughts, mind and self. The Baglamukhi sadhana majestically affects both internally and externally. Externally the sadhaka (performer) is endowed with divine and extraordinary life experiences to become undefeated and omniscient personality. And intern-
-ally the sadhaka enjoys great persistence and will power to remain committed towards his eventual spiritual goal. The rewarding outcome of Baglamukhi sadhana displays in an invincible personality of the sadhaka. It is advisable for a kriya yog sadhaka to perform at least three Mahavidya sadhana’s while practicing kundalini.

By performing the Ganga sadhana the sadhaka can get relieved from his past and present sins. When sadhaka precedes on his sadhana path his process of endurance gets faster and he goes through multiple turbulences in his life. These turbulences may
distract the sadhaka and his concentration to dilute his will power. And it becomes difficult for sadhaka to carry on his sadhana. But the sadhaka should not be afraid with these temporary difficulties coming in his way. Because when he will come out successfully completing the Ganga sadhana he will be fully purified to deserve his ultimate goal of kundalini awakening. Flowing through the matted hairs of Lord Shiva, the Ganga is actually symbolises the blissful nectar oozing out from the centre of Sahasrara Chakra.

chakras.
